Bongeziwe Mabandla is a South African singer-songwriter who performs almost entirely in isiXhosa. Despite the language barrier, his music connects deeply with international audiences worldwide, transforming language into an inviting bridge rather than a wall.Raised in the rural Eastern Cape with a background in church choirs and a drama education in Johannesburg, Mabandla launched a remarkable musical journey. The core engine of his success is his creative partnership with Mozambican producer Tiago Correia-Paulo. Together, they have crafted critically acclaimed albums, including "Mangaliso", "iimini", and "amaXesha", earning praise from major publications like NPR and The Guardian.His introspective album "Ndingubani" explores themes of personal history, hardship, and healing.
