Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, the best-known alter ego of the singular singer-songwriter, actor and musician Will Oldham, is coming to Royal Theatre Carré. For decades, Oldham has created a unique world in which intimacy, poetry and raw beauty converge. Ticket sales begin on Friday 24 April at 10:00. According to his new album We Are Together Again, a shift between worlds is taking place, however faintly it may be perceived. The world into which people were born is slowly slipping away, reshaped and stripped down by human action. What remains is the question of what is carried forward into the future, and how one refuses to relinquish one’s own humanity. The new album feels like a possible answer to that question. In Oldham’s songs – and within the circle of musicians gathered under the name Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy – friendship, community and the stubborn joy of making art together become a way of enduring. The album does not deny the world’s decline, for that would be self-deception. Instead, it breathes a form of resistance: remaining human, remaining joyful, even as the future grows increasingly uncertain. We Are Together Again was recorded at the End of an Ear Studios in Louisville. After a brief period in Nashville for the album The Purple Bird, this work continues Oldham’s recent ambition – begun with I Made A Place and Keeping Secrets Will Destroy You – to record his albums in Louisville.       This performance is a collaboration between MOJO Concerts and Royal Theater Carré, where MOJO Concerts is the responsible producer and Carré is responsible for ticket sales and location.     Dining at Carré Complete your theatre visit with a dinner at our restaurant In de Nok.
